NH Orchid Show

Each year we Winter weary New Englanders welcome the NH Orchid Show as it brightens our spirits and reminds us that Spring is just around the corner. Right...I'll believe that when I see it! With Canon in hand I managed to capture a few samples of the floral artist's work. Countless varieties. I may make gift cards with some of the photographs.

PHOTO TIP: See it in person next year if you are in the Nashua, NH area. Bring your camera, then you make some gift cards too.

I decided to sit and enjoy a coffee before heading out into the cold and glad I did. Three great photographers joined me and we shared several ideas. I got the better end of that deal. I am sure that our paths will cross again. For more photos of the orchids go to my site then choose galleries and then choose 'Orchid Show'.

February Artist of the Month

I was again fortunate to be chosen Artist Of The Month for February at the Manchester Artist Association with the "The Bride" photograph below. It will hang for the month at Members First Employees Credit Union. This is extra special to me as I have been a member there for decades as a Manchester Firefighter. The bride, Shannon, is featured in the Gallery of 'Shannon & Gary'.

Canadian Lynx

Photo tip: have your camera ever ready for photo op like I had of this great looking cat in my back yard. According to those in the know, it is a rare Canadian Lynx. She has visited us twice so far.
2/23/08 NOTE: I have mixed comments on my little fury friend. Some are convinced that it's a bobcat. What do you think?? In case you're wondering, she hasn't been back for a 3rd visit yet.

Two Beezy

I have been a member of The Manchester Artist Association for a couple of years. I finally got brave and entered my photography next to all the other media in December. I boomed!! I tried again in January and won Photographer of the Month and the piece hung for the month at Suddenly Susan's. It's a nice feeling because it is choosen by all the members at the meeting, not just a hand full of judges. It's one of the first shots that I took with my Canon Rebel XT.
